I'm quite disappointed with a pair of shoes I put in to be restored and resoled. My partner kindly dropped a pair of shoes in for me and asked for a leather resole and full polish.

The resole I cannot fault it, the quality appears to be very good however, the glue they've used is such an eye sore. It's peeled and flakey and shows a thick crust around the edge of the shoe where the sole meets. And I haven't even worn these yet. It looks like the glue was put on without much care

The polish is pretty poor as well. You can see in the photo's how it looks after they were collected by my partner and brought home where I saw them for the first time. I've actually spent 5mins myself polishing them and they look 10x better. Not what I would expect from a professional to be honest.

I appreciate they're an old pair of shoes, but they are a decent pair with a little bit of TLC they could have come back better. Reading the comments from the owners suggest they do not like constructive criticism, but when you've paid £110 for a resole and polish and you get what you see in the photo's, it is rather poor craftsmanship.

I chose to go here, one because my partner passes by every day and because I prefer supporting a local business over ones like Timpsons, but maybe I got it wrong on this occasion. Hopefully my experience is not a common theme here.

Went to get a simple key copied. Owner/proprietor was quiet curt upon first visit but just put it down to cobbler/locksmith having a bad day.

Picked up key and didn't work on the required door. Also charged me £17 for the one key (which I could prove) but just put that down to City prices.

Returned the key, asking for the amendment however blamed me for not giving the right keys! (I only own one, hence why I needed his assistance). Continued to blame me so politely informed him that what he was doing was actual robbery and was morally wrong. Unfortunately he didn't care.

I had no reason to lie, it's hassle that I didn't need.

Seldom write reviews but this needed to be shared as there isn't any recourse for such behaviour.

Popped in to have pair of leather loafers stretched. Needed at least one size more and there was no problem. Needed two attempts but we got there and great value. Took about a week. Proper cobbler

Danny mended my bag zip for me within two minutes and didn’t charge me a penny. Danny also printed me three sets of keys at a hood price - took about 2 minutes. Really recommend. ,
